In South Africa we have so many beautiful mountains to climb and remote areas to visit. In the Western Cape we have the fynbos region which is one of the floral wonders of the world, we have the postcard perfect Table Mountain and many other interesting and challenging mountains which can give both experts and novices great amounts of fun.

In Natal we have the great Drakensberg which has challenged many mountaineers over the years. We have the arid and isolated Richtersveld in the Northern Cape known for its breathtaking beauty and roughness which can provide much excitement for the 4x4 enthusiasts, campers and climbers alike. There are so many natural wonders in South Africa that it would take days to list them all, but one thing remains the same, you have to have the right equipment, if you do not you may be in for a tough time. Summers are often hot making it essential to carry adequate amounts of water, but if you are doing a long summer hike you must also carry winter gear as storms can strike fast and without warning. Often in winter big storms strike blanketing many of the mountains in South Africa with snow making it essential to carry the correct clothing, cooking and sleeping bags, as well as a really storm proof tent.
